Daily breakfast is included. To allow for maximum flexibility in your daily schedule entrances to attractions, meals (unless specified in the itinerary) ferries, and tips are not included.  Costs are subject to price changes and availability until the tour deposit is completed.

Day-By-Day Itinerary

This Itinerary can be Adjusted to Suit Your Interests 

Day 1

Arrive in Edinburgh

Upon arrival in Edinburgh, we check in to our hotel, then we’re off to lunch at a delicious local-favorite restaurant. Next, we tour the Johnnie Walker Experience and afterward enjoy an evening stroll through the Georgian and neo-classical architecture of Edinburgh’s New Town on the way back to the hotel.

Day 2

Edinburgh City

We begin our exploration of Edinburgh’s Old Town with a fascinating tour of hidden subterranean streets from the 17th century, frozen in time below The Royal Mile. After lunch, we join our local private guide where we’ll discover the history and scenery of this remarkable 1,200-year-old city, including a visit to Edinburgh Castle, followed by shopping and exploring the famed Royal Mile, Victoria Street and Prince’s Street.

Day 3

Edinburgh to Pitlochry

This morning we meet our Highland guide and begin our exciting trek north with fascinating historical stops that include the village of Falkland (Mary, Queen of Scots’ favorite home) and the ancient university town of St Andrews, the Home of Golf. We’ll visit the remains of St Andrews Cathedral, which was once Scotland’s largest cathedral and most magnificent church.

Day 4

Pitlochry to Inverness

Our day begins with exploring the Glenlyon and Aberfeldy areas (Sir Walter Scott called it the “longest, loneliest and loveliest glen in Scotland”) with a bit of shopping & lunch. Next, we’re on to Inverness for a city tour and a possible whisky tour in the late afternoon. After dinner, we can enjoy live local music and ceilidh dancing, for those interested.

Day 5

Inverness to Balmacara

Today we enjoy a fascinating day filled with Scottish heritage. We visit the infamous and deeply moving Battlefield of Culloden of 1746, which forever changed the Highland way of life. Afterward, we explore the other-worldly 4,000-year-old Clava Stones. Next, we enjoy a special picnic lunch on the banks of Loch Ness. Then we’re off to the charming harbor village of Plockton for dinner and spend the night in Balmacara.

Day 6

Balmacara to the Isle of Skye

Today, our first stop is considered one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland, the 13th-century Eilean Donan Castle. After our visit, we take the bridge over to the Isle of Skye and enjoy a full day of exploring this magical island. Highlights include the Sligachan old bridge, Portree, the old man of Storr, Kilt Rock and The Quiraing. Tonight we enjoy fine dining and lodging on the northern peninsula of Skye.

Day 7

Isle of Skye to Oban

This morning we catch the Mallaig Ferry and cross back to the mainland with lunch in Arisaig. We then head east to the shores of Loch Shiel and visit the Glenfinnan Monument and Viaduct. Next, we are awed as we drive through the mighty Glen Coe valley. Making our way to the port town of Oban, we lodge for the night.

Day 8

Oban to Edinburgh

Leaving Oban, we journey west toward Edinburgh with visits to the exquisite Loch Lomand area, Kilchurn Castle, the village of Luss and Duck Bay. We finish our day with a tour of the remarkable Rosslyn Chapel and a farewell dinner. Spend the night at an airport hotel for morning departures.

Depending on your flight preference, you can depart tonight or spend the night in Edinburgh and depart early the next morning.  *Airport hotel is not included in this package.

Each of our 59 rooms are unique due to the iconic shape of the Victorian building, meaning no two rooms will be the same. All itineraries are subject to change to accommodate the client’s interests, budget, and needs. All tours are custom and can be adjusted.  On finalization of the tour itinerary with the client, a quote will be submitted for approval.  Upon approval of the itinerary/quote with the client and Traveling Soul Tours, a deposit of 1/2 of the total quote will be required to hold dates on the tour. The remaining balance will be due 60 days before departure.  The quoted price will include hotels, transportation, selected meals, and attractions outlined in the itinerary.

Additional costs will include airfare, meals, additional attractions, tips for tour guides/hospitality staff, shopping, and any other additional expenses incurred by the client.  Insurance is encouraged and will be available through a third party company.  Cancelation fees will apply and will be determined at time and cancelation and insurance coverage.
